Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) asked me, "Are you married?"

I said, "Yes, I am married." He said, “Did you take a virgin or a widow?” I said, “I took a widow.” He said, “Why did you not take a virgin? You would have played with her, and she would have played with you.” [80]

**Explanation:**

It is beneficial for a bachelor to marry a virgin, but certain circumstances may necessitate marrying a widow. Jabir said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him), "I married a widow. Because my father has passed away, and seven or nine sisters remain, I did not deem it appropriate to bring in someone like them.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) then said, “May Allah bless [the marriage].”
