MARRIAGE CHAPTER · 4 – MARRYING BARREN WOMEN
According to a narration from Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, he said:
A man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "My wife is not repelling hands that reach her." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded, “Repel her (divorce her).”
The man said, “If I divorce her, I fear following my own desire regarding her.”
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, then commanded, “Then reconcile with her.” [81]
Ma'kil ibn Yasar, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
A man came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "I have found a woman of noble lineage and beauty, but she does not bear children." He asked, “Should I marry her?”
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No, do not marry her.”
He came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, a second time. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, forbade him from marrying her. He came a third time. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Marry women who show affection to their husbands and bear children. For I will boast about your abundance over the previous nations.” [82]
