SECTION ON JIHAD · 68 – RACES AMONG PEDESTRIANS
2578 – It is narrated from ʿĀʾisha (may Allah be pleased with her): She was on a journey with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: I raced with the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) while I was on foot, and I outran him. When I became heavier, I raced with him again, and this time the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) outran me and said, “This victory of mine is in return for that victory of yours.” [400]
