THE DEPARTED CHAPTER 12 – PRAYING FOR THE PATIENT AT THE TIME OF VISITATION
From Ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: He narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, that he said: Whoever visits a sick person whose death is not imminent and recites seven times, “O Arsh-Majestic Lord, I ask You by Your mercy to cure him,” then Allah will cure him from that illness.
It is narrated from Ibn ‘Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “When someone visits a sick person, let him say: ‘O Allah, grant healing to Your servant, so that it may be that You inflict harm on an enemy of yours, or that you walk in the funeral procession of one who is pleasing to You.’”
