Haneş, may Allah be pleased with him, related:
I saw Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, sacrificing two rams. I said to him, “What is this?”
He replied, "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded me to sacrifice on behalf of someone who has passed away.” So I am sacrificing on behalf of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him." [524]
