Amir ibn Sa'd reported from his father, Said:

We set out with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ from Mecca intending to go to Medina. As we approached Azvir, he dismounted his camel. Then he raised his hands and supplicated to Allah for a while, then prostrated. He remained in prostration for a long time. Then he rose and raised his hands and supplicated to Allah for a while, and again prostrated. He remained in prostration for a long time. Again he rose, raised his hands for a time, and then prostrated. The narrator, Ahmad ibn Salih, mentioned the prostration three times.

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “I asked my Lord intercession for my community and requested my community from Him. Then He granted me one-third of them. I prostrated in thanks to my Lord, then raised my head. I requested my community from my Lord. He granted me another third of them. I prostrated in thanks to my Lord, then raised my head. I requested my community from my Lord. He granted me the remaining third of them. I prostrated in thanks to my Lord.”

Abu Dawud said: When Ishaq ibn Ibrahim narrated to us, he omitted Ahmad ibn Salih. Musa ibn Sahl ar-Ramli reported it to me from him.
