THE SACRIFICE CHAPTER · 9 – THE PRESIDENTIAL SACRIFICE IS SLAUGHTERED AT THE ALTAR
From Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, it is narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would slaughter his sacrificial animal at the musallā (the place of Eid prayer). And Ibn Umar would do likewise. [540]
COMMENTARY:
The Imam’s slaughtering of the sacrifice at the musallā is so that he may serve as an example for the people. So that people should slaughter their sacrifices in the manner the Imam slaughters his.
