Al-Kamah ibn Waqqas al-Laythi, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

I heard Umar ibn al-Khattab say: "The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: 'Indeed actions are [judged] by intentions. And for every person is what he intends.

Whose emigration is for Allah and His Messenger, his emigration is for Allah and His Messenger.

And whose emigration is for the world, then he attains what he emigrated for. Or if it is for a woman, then he marries her. And his emigration is to that which he emigrated for.'"

Abdullah ibn Ka'b ibn Malik has narrated: I heard Kab ibn Malik relating to us the incident of the campaign of Tabuk: After fifty days, forty of which had passed, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent a messenger. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded him to avoid his wife. Kab said: Shall I divorce her, or what should I do? He replied: No, you shall not divorce her, but separate from her and do not approach her. So I told my wife, "Go to your father's family and stay with them until Allah decrees a ruling in this matter."
