Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “The oath of a merchant facilitates the sale, but removes its blessing.”

In the narration of Ibn Sirin, the word "blessing" is replaced with "profit." Ibn Sirin narrated from Sa’id bin Musayyib, who narrated from Abu Hurayrah, who narrated from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him. [177]

EXPLANATION

Swearing in trade may outwardly facilitate sales, but it removes the blessing from profit. The honorable hadith also indicates that swearing in trade leads to the dissipation of earnings into useless places. It goes to heirs who are intoxicated. Just as water flows away in a flood, so too does what comes through oaths, and its owner finds no blessing.
