Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related that they would say, “There will continuously appear a light over the grave of Najashi [the Christian ruler of Ethiopia] when he dies.”

Ubayd ibn Khalid as-Sulami, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

“The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, made two men brothers. One of them was killed (in the path of Allah), and the other died after a period of approximately one week. We performed the funeral prayer for him.”

The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “How did you supplicate for him?” We said, “We supplicated for him,” and we said: “O Allah, forgive him and reunite him with his brother.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Where has gone the prayer he prayed and the fast he observed after the death of the other?"

There was doubt in the narration regarding the word *shubuh*. He said, “Where has gone his deed after his deed? There is a distance between them as far as the heavens are from the earth.”
