JIHAD SECTION · 18 – The Dislike of Abandoning Warfare in the Path of Allah

Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
“Whoever dies without striving (in the way of Allah) or having the inclination to do so, dies upon a form of hypocrisy.” [359]
EXPLANATION
The individual’s harboring of striving (in the way of Allah) in his heart occurs through sincere intention. Whoever intends to strive (in the way of Allah) has harbored it in his heart.

According to a narration from Abu Umama (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever does not go out for war, does not equip a warrior, or does not act kindly as a guardian for the family of a warrior, then Allah will afflict him with a calamity." Yazid ibn Abdurrabba narrated in his version: “He will be afflicted with a calamity before the Day of Resurrection.”

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) commanded, “Fight against the polytheists with your wealth, your lives, and your tongues.” [361]
EXPLANATION
Fighting with the tongue involves ridiculing the enemy and praising one’s own army.
