SECTION ON DIVORCE · 2 – THE SITUATION OF A WOMAN WHO ASKS A MAN TO DIVORCE HIS WIFE
2176 – It is narrated from Abū Hurayra (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A woman should not ask for her (Muslim) sister to be divorced in order to marry (the man) herself. What is decreed for her will come to her as well.” [165]
EXPLANATION
For a woman to ask for another woman to be divorced so that she herself may marry in her place is among the most reprehensible actions for a woman. A woman of iman (faith) cannot behave in such a manner.
