JIHAD SECTION · 109 – THE STATUS OF DHIMMI SPIES
Furāt ibn Hayyān, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
An order for his killing had been issued by the Messenger of Allah. Furāt was at that time a spy for Abū Sūfyān and allied with a man from the Anṣār. One day, he came to a group of the Anṣār and said, “I am a Muslim.” A person from the Anṣār said, "O Messenger of Allah, Furāt says he is a Muslim." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There are many people among you whom We forgive in their faith. Furāt ibn Hayyān is one of them.”
