Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) say: "Do not exceed bounds in my shroud, for it is quickly removed."

Habbab, may Allah be pleased with him, related:

Mus’ab ibn Umayr was martyred at the battle of Uhud. He had nothing on him but a striped cloak. If we covered his head with it, his feet would be exposed; and if we covered his feet, his head would be exposed. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Cover his head with this cloak, and put some izhār (a type of herb) on his feet.”

Ubad ibn Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “The best of shrouds are the hulle, izar, and kamis. And the best of sacrifices is a heifer with horns.”
