Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
“My aunt, Umm Haram, daughter of Milhan, the sister of Umm Sulaym, told me.”
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, rested for the midday nap among them and awoke smiling. Umm Haram said, “O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, what made you laugh?” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "I saw a group of my community riding on ships upon (the) sea, reclining as kings on their thrones.”
Umm Haram said, “O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray to Allah to include me among them.” The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "You are among them." Umm Haram said:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, slept again. He awoke smiling and said the same thing as before. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, pray to Allah to include me among them.”
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "You are one of the first ones."
Anas said: Umm Haram was married to Ubada ibn Samiit. He set out on the campaign of Cyprus and took Umm Haram with him. When they returned from the sea to land, a female riding beast was brought for Umm Haram to mount. The beast threw her off, she broke her neck, and died.
Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, relates:
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, would visit Ummu Haram bint Milhan when he went to Kuba. Ummu Haram was under the marriage of Ubada ibn Samit. One day he visited her again. Ummu Haram fed the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and allowed him to sit and comb his hair. The narrator of this hadith then recounted the subsequent portion [of a previous hadith]. Abu Dawud said: Binti Milhan (Ummu Haram) died in Cyprus.
Ruwaysa, the sister of Umm Sulaym, related that:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ slept and awoke laughing. Ruwaysa (Umm Haram) was washing her head. She said, “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ, are you laughing at me washing my head?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "No." She transmitted the hadith with some additions and omissions.
Abu Dawud said: Ruwaysa is the foster sister of Umm Sulaym.
Umm Haram (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: "For one who experiences dizziness in the sea and vomits, there is the reward of a martyr; and for one who drowns, there are two rewards of martyrs."
Abū Umāmah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: "There are three categories of people who are under the protection of the Mighty and Majestic Allah. One is he who fights in the way of Allah, the Mighty and Majestic; this person is under His protection until He takes his soul and places it in Paradise, or until he returns home with reward and spoils of war. Another is the man who goes to the mosque; he is under His protection until He takes his soul and places it in Paradise, or until he returns home with reward and spoils of war. And another is the one who enters his home with greetings; this person is also under the protection of the Mighty and Majestic Allah."
