SECTION ON JIHAD · 12 – THE WIVES OF THE MUJĀHIDS BEING FORBIDDEN TO MEN WHO DO NOT GO TO BATTLE
2496 – From Ibn Burda (may Allah be pleased with him), who narrated from his father, who said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The prohibition of the wives of the mujāhids (those who strive in the path of Allah) for those who remain behind is like the prohibition of their own mothers. If someone from those who remain behind is appointed as a caretaker over the house of one of the mujāhids, and he acts treacherously, then on the Day of Resurrection, he will be made to stand before the mujāhid for whom he was a caretaker. It will be said to the mujāhid: 'This person was a bad caretaker for you concerning your family. Take from his good deeds whatever you wish.'" The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) then turned to us and said, "What do you think about the attitude of the mujāhid in taking his reward (from the one who betrayed him)?" [356]
