CHAPTER 11 – EXCLUSION IN OATHS
From Ibn 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, has come a report wherein the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever swears by something and then says, ‘If Allah wills,’ he has exempted himself [from his oath].”
According to the narration of Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Whoever makes an oath and includes an exception in it, he may retract it or abandon his oath without breaking it.”
