SECTION 3 OF THE MENASIKH CHAPTER – There is no avoiding Hajj and marriage in Islam.
From Ibn 'Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him):
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “There is no one who neglects the pilgrimage to Hajj, or does not marry when he has the means.”
Explanation:
Some scholars consider this hadith weak due to the presence of Amr bin Ata in its chain of narration.
Sarure: This word has two meanings. The first is neglecting the pilgrimage to Hajj when one has the ability. The second is not marrying when one has the means. Neglecting the obligatory pilgrimage is abandoning a duty, while not marrying can be abandoning either an obligation or a sunna, depending on the circumstances.
Both are incorrect. Remaining celibate and wandering as a bachelor is also known as *ruhbaniyya*, which is the practice of Christian priests. Ruhbaniyya is also absent in Islam.
