Atâ ibn Yesar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Sadaka is not permissible for the wealthy, except for five categories of people: those who go out to fight in the way of Allah, those appointed to collect sadaka, the indebted, one who purchases zakat goods with his money, and a wealthy person who has a poor neighbor to whom he gives charity, and the poor person reciprocates with a gift from that zakat to the wealthy neighbor. This is permissible.”

Abū Sa’īd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Zakat is not permissible for the wealthy unless he fights in the way of Allah, or is a traveler whose funds have run out, or gives charity to a poor neighbor, and he gifts to him or invites him.”
