JIHAD SECTION · 15 – Those Who Lost Their Lives While Fighting in the Way of Allah
Abū Māliki al-Ashʿarī, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “Whoever sets out for battle in the way of Allah, dies or is killed, then he is a martyr; or his mount falls with him breaking his neck, or a venomous creature bites him, or he dies in his bed, or dies by one of Allah’s means of destruction, then he is a martyr. And Paradise is his.”
EXPLANATION:
Ḥammāyah: This refers to creatures that sting, such as snakes, scorpions, spiders, and mosquitoes.
