THE FASTING CHAPTER · 5 – WHAT TO DO IF THOSE OBSERVING THE CRESCENT ERR IN ITS SIGHTING
Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
In the narration of Yaʿqūb, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Your Ramaḍān fast is broken on the day you break it, and your Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha) is on the day you slaughter the sacrifice. Every side of ʿArafah is a place of standing (wuqūf). Every side of Mina is a place for sacrificing. All the broad avenues of Mecca are places for sacrificing. Every side of Muzdalifah is a place of standing.”
