FASTING CHAPTER · 44 – THOSE WHO PREFER FASTING ON A JOURNEY

Abu ad-Darda, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
That we accompanied the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, on an expedition, in intense heat. To the point that one of us would place his hand or palm upon his head because of the intensity of the heat. There was no one fasting among us except the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and Abdullah ibn Rawha.

Sinan ibn Salama ibn al-Muhabbik reported from his father:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever has a mount that takes him to a place where he will reach his destination, then let him fast the month of Ramadan wherever he arrives.”

According to Seleme bin al-Muhabbik, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever is on a journey when Ramadan arrives…" The narrator then mentioned the meaning of the following hadith.
