According to the narration of Abu Ishaq, may Allah be pleased with him, he said: I was with Aswad in the Grand Mosque. Fatimah bint Kays came to Umar ibn al-Khattab. Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, said to her, “We cannot abandon the Book of our Lord or the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, based on the words of a woman. Does she preserve [knowledge], or does she not?”

Hisham ibn Urwa has narrated from his father that she – Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her – strongly rejected the hadith of Fatima bint Kays and said: Indeed, Fatima was in a desolate place, and there was fear for her. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, permitted her to move to the house of Ibn Umm Maktum.

It was narrated on the authority of Urve bin Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him):

They said to Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her), “Did you not see Fatima’s statement?” Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said, "There is no good in Fatima for relating that narration."

From Sulayman ibn Yasir, it is related:

Regarding Fatima's departure (from her husband’s home during 'iddah), he said:

It was only because of his ill temper that she changed homes.

It is narrated from Qasim bin Muhammad and Sulayman bin Yasir that: Yahya bin Sa'id divorced the daughter of Abdurrahman bin Hakam definitively. Abdurrahman transferred his daughter from his home, where she was observing her waiting period ('iddah). Mervan was the governor of Medina. Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) sent a message to Mervan, saying: Fear Allah. Return the woman to her home.

In Sulayman’s narration, Mervan said: Abdurrahman overpowered me.

In Qasim’s narration, Mervan said: Did news of Fatima binti Kays not reach you? Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said to him: Mentioning the story of Fatima should not harm you. Then Mervan said: If (Fatima's departure from her home) was due to an existing evil, then the evil between Yahya and Abdurrahman’s daughter is sufficient for you as an excuse.

Maymun ibn Mihran, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:

I came to Medina and was brought before Sa'id ibn Musayyib. I said to him: Fatima bint Kays has been divorced and has left her home before the end of her waiting period (‘iddah). Sa’id ibn Musayyib said: This woman was one who caused tribulation among the people. She was a woman who wounded those around her with her tongue, so she was left with Ibn Umm Maktum.
