THE CHAPTER ON FASTING · 73 – THOSE WHO SAY THAT BREAKING A VOLUNTARY FAST REQUIRES MAKE-UP FASTING
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related:
Food was presented as a gift to Aisha and Hafsa while they were fasting.
They broke their fasts, then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) entered. They said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, a gift has been sent to us; we desired it greatly and broke our fasts.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, "There is no harm in you breaking your fasts; observe another day in its place."
