Episode 12 of VE FEY – Betraying Zakat Assets
Abū Masʿūd al-Anṣārī, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, appointed me as a tax collector and then said: “O Abū Masʿūd, go forth, but let me not see you on the Day of Resurrection being bellowed from atop a female camel of which you betrayed (the trust).”
Abū Masʿūd said, "Then I fear that I will not go to collect the zakāh."
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “In that case, I will not compel you.”
