SECTION ON JIHAD · 58 – BRANDING THE FACES OF ANIMALS AND STRIKING THEM ON THE FACE
2564 – It is narrated from Jābir (may Allah be pleased with him) that a donkey with a branded face was brought to the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him). Thereupon, the Prophet said: “Has the news not reached you that I have cursed the one who brands the face of animals and the one who strikes them on the face?” He then forbade this. [391]
