THE CHAPTER ON ZAKAT · 38 – GIVING FOR THE SAKE OF GOD
From ‘Abdullah ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever seeks refuge with you for the sake of Allah, protect them; whoever asks you for help for the sake of Allah, give to them; respond to the call of one who calls you for the sake of Allah; and reciprocate the gift of one who gives you a gift, or if you do not find something to reciprocate their gift with, then supplicate for them until you are satisfied that you have reciprocated.” [499]
