SHOPPING SECTION · 11 – PAYING OFF DEBT WITH A BETTER ONE
Abu Rafi (RA) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) purchased a young camel from a man with the intention of giving him its increase later on. When the time came, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ordered that the debt for the camel be paid. I said, “I could not find anything other than a fine female camel which has completed six years.” The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: "Give it to him, for the best of debtors is he who pays [his debt] in the best manner."
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) had a debt to me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) paid my debt and gave me more than what I was owed.
