SECTION ON FUNERALS · 69 – PRAYING FOR THE DECEASED WHEN PLACING THEM IN THE GRAVE
3213 – It is narrated from Ibn ʿUmar (may Allah be pleased with him) as follows: When the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) placed a funeral in the grave, he would supplicate thus: “(O deceased, we place you in this grave) in the name of Allah. Upon the sunnah of the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him), we deliver you.”
