SECTION OF CORPSES · 20 – RECITING THE KALIMAH (Declaration of Faith) WHILE SUGGESTING TO THE PATIENT

Muadh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Whoever dies uttering the testimony that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, he enters Paradise.”

Abū Sa’īd al-Hudrī (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Recite to those who are dying among you the words: ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except Allah.’”
[Footnote: The term "to your deceased" in this honorable hadith refers to those who are nearing death. The recitation should be done while the person is dying, as the soul reaches their throat, and with the declaration of tawhid being recited. Commentators of the hadith have explained this sentence as ‘to those who are prepared for death.’]
