CORPES EPISODE · 4 – VISITING PATIENTS
Usāmah ibn Zayd, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, visited ‘Abdullah ibn Ubayy when he was afflicted by a deathly illness. When he entered upon him, he realized that he was about to die. He said to him, “I had forbidden you from loving the Jews.”
‘Abdullah ibn Ubayy said, “Asad ibn Zurarah hated the Jews, so what happened to him? (Did he not die?)”
When ‘Abdullah died, his son came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and said, "O Messenger of Allah, 'Abdullah ibn Ubayy has died. Give me his shirt that I may shroud my father in it."
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, removed his shirt and gave it to ‘Abdullah’s son.
