SECTION ON JIHAD · 84 – ON WHICH DAY IS IT RECOMMENDED TO SET OUT ON A JOURNEY?
2605 – It is narrated from Kaʿb ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: The Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) would rarely set out on an expedition except on a Thursday.
EXPLANATION
It is sunnah (sunnah; the normative practice of the Prophet) to set out on a journey on Thursday and Monday. This is because the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) set out on very few of his expeditions on days other than Thursday.
