JIHAD SECTION · 111 – What is the most suitable time to confront the enemy?

Numan ibn Mukarrim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
I was present with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in several battles. If he did not begin fighting at the beginning of the day, he would postpone the battle until the sun had passed its zenith and begun to decline westward, and until a wind arose and divine help came down. [454]
COMMENTARY:
Prayer is performed after the sun’s declination. In prayer, one seeks Divine assistance. The wind often comes as aid for the Muslims, as it did in the battle of the Trench.
