JIHAD CHAPTER · 44 – WHICH COLOR OF HORSES IS CUTER?

Abū Wābb al-Jushamī, may Allah be pleased with him – among those who had the honour of speaking with the Messenger of Allah – related that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Keep horses which are bay, with white foreheads and white feet; or red, with white foreheads and white feet; or black, with white foreheads and white feet.” [377]
Note:
Kumaity: It is a term for a horse that has redness in its colour, a mixture of black and red.
Saki: It is the whiteness on the hooves of a horse.

Abū Wābb رضي الله عنه (may Allah be pleased with him) related:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Keep red horses with white foreheads and crooked legs, or bay horses with white foreheads.”
Muḥammad ibn Mujāhir رضي الله عنه (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I asked Fuẓayl why the Prophet ﷺ preferred the red [horse].
He said: The Prophet ﷺ had sent out a raiding party. The owner of the red horse arrived first in the conquest, so he considered red to be superior because of that.

‘Abdullah ibn ‘Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The blessing of the horse is in its redness."
