SECTION 15 – EYE AILMENT (EVIL EYE)
Abu Hurayra, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “The gaze is a form of truth.”
Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related:
When someone had an evil eye cast upon them, they would be ordered to perform ablution. And they would perform the ablution. Then, the one who cast the evil eye would bathe in that water used for the ablution.
EXPLANATION
‘Ayn: This means “one who casts an evil eye.”
Ma’in: This means “the one upon whom the evil eye is cast.”
The evil eye is a reality and it occurs frequently. Its treatment is to have the one who cast the evil eye perform ablution, and then that water be poured over the head and body of the afflicted person.
