Drinks Section · 12 – Hadiths About Foaming and Frothing Wine
Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
I knew that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, was fasting. I began to watch for a day when he would not be fasting so that I could bring him a drink made from shirā (a fermented barley beverage) prepared in a gourd container. Then I brought it to him, and lo, the shirā had foamed and risen. Seeing this, the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: “Pour it into that garden. It is the drink of those who do not believe in Allah and the Hereafter.”
