CHAPTER 4 – HADITH REGARDING CAFTANS
According to the narration of Miswar bin Mahrama (may Allah be pleased with him), he said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) distributed some garments amongst the people. However, nothing was given to my father, Mahrama. My father told me, “O son, take me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him).” So I rose and took him to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him). My father told me, "Enter your home and summon me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him)." So I entered and summoned [him]. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) emerged wearing one of those garments, and said to my father, “I had prepared this garment for you.” My father, Mahrama, examined the garment carefully. The narrator Ibn al-Mahhib added the word "Mahrama." Then Kutayba and Yazid bin Khalid agreed in their narration that Miswar said: My father, Mahrama, was pleased. Kutayba narrated from Ibn Abu Mulayka, but he did not mention his name.
