It is narrated on the authority of Sa’id ibn Sa’id, may Allah be pleased with him, that:

I saw a man in Bukhara riding a white donkey and wearing a black silk turban. He said to me, “The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, dressed me in this.”

Abu Amr or Abu Malik heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “From my community there will arise groups of people who deem silk and satin permissible.” The narrator added some words here. (The subsequent narration is as follows:) “Some of those who come after them will have their forms transformed into monkeys and pigs until the Day of Resurrection.”

Abu Dawud said: More than twenty companions, including Anas and Bara’ ibn ‘Azib, wore silk.
