CHAPTER · 39 – Hadiths About Vinegar
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Vinegar is a good condiment.”

COMMENTARY
It is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) and his companions would eat with bread and vinegar in such a way as to consume very little. When it is stated that vinegar is a good condiment, it encourages eating it sparingly. It is explicitly declared that vinegar is permissible.
