CASE SECTION · 6 – HOW A JUDGMENT IS ISSUED

According to the narration of Ali (may Allah be pleased with him), he said:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) had sent me as a judge to Yemen. I said, “O Messenger of Allah, you are sending me while I am young and I have no knowledge of judging.” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said, "Allah will guide your heart, grant firmness to your tongue, and when two adversaries sit before you, do not judge until you listen to both as you listened to the first." He said, “This conduct is more suitable for the opening up and mastery of judging for you.” Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "From that day onward, I have continued according to this advice," or, "I have never hesitated in judgment again."
