From a man with a squint, related from Sakīf:

Good things were said about him; that is, laudatory praise was spoken of him.

I do not know his name, if it were not Zūhayr ibn ‘Osmān.

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Giving a feast on the first day of the wedding is obligatory, the second day is custom and good, but the third day is for boasting and showing off.”

Katādah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: A man narrated to me. Sa‘īd ibn Musayyib was invited to the wedding on the first day and accepted. He was invited on the second day and accepted. He was invited on the third day and declined. This man said, “He is a person of publicity and showing off.”

From Katada, from Sa'id ibn Musayyib, the following narrative was transmitted. Katada said: Sa'id ibn Musayyib was summoned on the third day and refused [the summons], and he stoned the envoy who came for the invitation.
