CHAPTER 22 – Eating Pumpkin
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) relates:
A tailor invited the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) to a meal he had prepared.
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I accompanied the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) to that meal, where barley bread and soup containing squash and cured meat were presented to him. Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) separating the squash from the edges of the plate one after another and eating them. From that day onward, I have continued to enjoy squash. [432]
