Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:

The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) pointed to the mattresses and said, “A mattress for the man, a mattress for the woman, and a mattress for the guest; and the fourth mattress is for Satan.”

Jabir ibn Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I entered upon the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, in his home. I saw him leaning against a pillow. Ibn Jarrah added his wording on the left side.

Abu Dawud said: Ishaq bin Mansur narrated from Israel, “I saw him leaning upon his left side.”

According to the report of his father from Sa'id bin Amr al-Kureishi, he said:

Ibn Umar saw a company of people from Yemen with leather coverings on their camels' saddles. He said, "Whoever among you wishes to look at a group resembling the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, let him look at these Yemenis."

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) asked me, “Do you have outer coverings for your bedding?” I replied, “From where would we obtain them?” Thereupon he said, “Be aware that in the future, your bedding will indeed have outer coverings.”

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related: The pillow of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) was what Ibn Man narrated as the pillow that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) placed on his head at night. Following this, (Usman ibn Abi Shayba and Ibn Man) both related together, saying: It was a tanned hide filled with date fiber.

Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) related that the bed of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) was made of leather filled with date palm fiber.

Umm Salamah, may Allah be pleased with her, related:

The bed of the Messenger of Allah, sallallahu alayhi wa sallam, was beside his place of prayer.
