Rafi bin Rifa’ah came to a gathering of the Ansar and said: “I swear, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) forbade us from certain things – Rafi mentioned some of them – and then, gesturing with his fingers, he forbade [us] from taking anything from the earnings of a female slave except that which she earns through her own labor, such as baking bread, spinning yarn, and carding wool.”

Rafi bin Hadic (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) forbade taking benefit from a female slave unless its origin was known.
