Amir ibn Abdullah ibn Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with him, said: My father, Abdullah, asked my father, Zubayr, as the other companions related from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, what prevents you from narrating hadith from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?
My father, Zubayr, said: I swear to Allah that I possessed nearness to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, and a position in his presence. My conversations with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, were plentiful. However, I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: “Whoever deliberately fabricates a falsehood about me, let him prepare a place for himself in Hell.”
