BOOK OF KNOWLEDGE · 10 – THE EXCELLENCE OF SPREADING KNOWLEDGE

It is narrated from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “You listen, and those around you listen from you. And from one who hears from you, others hear.”

Zayd ibn Saabit, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings upon him, say: “Whoever hears a hadith from us and memorizes it (correctly) and transmits it, may Allah brighten his face. There are those who possess knowledge of jurisprudence but transmit it to someone more knowledgeable than themselves. And there are those who possess knowledge of jurisprudence but do not understand it.”

Saḥl bin Saʿd, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings upon him, said: “I swear to You, O Allah, that the guidance of a single person by which Allah guides someone through your encouragement is better to me than [possessing] red camels.”
