DISPUTES CHAPTER · 14 – ASSISTING ONE OF THE PARTIES IN A CASE WHERE YOU DON'T KNOW THE INNER WORKINGS
Yahya bin Raşid, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated:
I went to the gathering of Abdullah bin Umar, who came out to us and sat down, and said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say: "Whoever obstructs the implementation of a prescribed penalty (ḥadd) from among Allah’s ordinances, he acts in opposition to Allah’s command. And whoever defends a false claim knowing it to be false, will remain under Allah’s wrath until he abandons it. And whoever attributes to a Muslim qualities that are not his, Allah will keep him in a mire of mud and pus from the body of the inhabitants of Hell until he ceases to utter those words."

Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated the meaning of the preceding hadith. In this narration, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) said: “Whoever supports a case based on injustice, he surely incurs the wrath of Allah.”
