CHAPTER 2 – GIVING A WEDDING RECEPTION
According to a narration from Sabit, when mention was made before Anas ibn Malik of Zaynab bint Jahsh’s marriage to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), he said: I have not seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) give a wedding feast for any of his wives as he did for Zaynab. He slaughtered a sheep and held a banquet at her wedding.
Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated:
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings upon him) gave a wedding feast for his wife Safiyyah, consisting of roasted flour and dates.
