LEASE SECTION · 46 – INTERFERING AMONG CUSTOMERS AND RAISING PRICES
Abū Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said:
“Do not outbid one another in raising the price of a commodity which you do not intend to buy.”
**EXPLANATION:**
*Neceš*: This refers to increasing the price of a commodity in the marketplace without intending to purchase it, solely to incite competition and inflate prices.
This is not an appropriate action. It harms buyers by subjecting them to losses beyond the actual value of the goods. However, one may increase the price if they intend to buy the item; there is no harm in that.
