ITK (MANUMISSION) SECTION · 7 – ENSLAVING A CLOSE RELATIVE WHOSE MARRIAGE IS PROHIBITED
3949 – It is narrated from Samura (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of God (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Whoever comes to possess one of his maḥram (a close relative whose marriage is prohibited), that slave is free.” [529]
3950 – From Qatāda (may Allah be pleased with him), ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb said: Whoever comes to possess one of his maḥram (as a slave), that person is free.
3951 – It is narrated from al-Ḥasan (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: “Whoever comes to possess one of his maḥram, that slave is free.”
3952 – A similar narration of this hadith is reported from Jābir ibn Zayd and al-Ḥasan.
